The majestic Housatonic River and the various lakes nearby afford excellent opportunities for boating, kayaking, fishing, and contemplation. The public park (Town Grove) on the shore of Lake Wononscopomuc is a center of community activities, including beach, swimming, July 4th picnics, concerts by the Salisbury town band, as well as play areas for children. Public and private gatherings in the recently remodeled meeting hall at the Grove occur frequently. In the winter, skiing (downhill and cross country) and ice hockey are popular pursuits, all within easy reach.
Located in the nearby town of Sharon, Sharon Audubon Center offers an ample opportunity to explore wildlife in all forms. Audubon Sharon is a place where families, solo hikers, or groups can enjoy a wide range of ecosystems and scenery year-round.
